Dominic Thorburn

Dominic Thorburn (* 1989 ) is a British actor and speaker.

Life

Thorburn comes from an artistically active and creative family. His mother was a painter , the father taught acting and theater studies . Thorburn grew up with three other siblings (two brothers, one sister) in Cambridge , where he attended college . He also gained his first acting experience as a teenager in college. At the age of 18 he went to London to study acting. He attended the well-known Drama Center School (DCL) in London. After graduating, he went to the theater and performed in London and various cities in the UK.

He had his first theater engagements at the Theater Royal in Bath (2011; as Prince John in Henry IV., Part 1 and Henry IV., Part 2 ) and at the Octagon Theater in Bolton (2012; as Ralph Clark in Our Country's Good by Timberlakewertebaker ).

At Propeller Theater Company he appeared in the 2011/12 season as Cleomenes / First Sicilian Nobleman in A Winter's Tale and in Henry V , where he took on the roles of Count of Westmoreland / Commander of Harfleur / Le Fer, French prisoner.

In July 2013 he played the Scottish nobleman Angus in Macbeth at the Manchester International Festival . For this role, Thorburn was specially selected and hired by the British actor and director Kenneth Branagh . The production was also broadcast live on television and recorded for television.

From October 2013 to March 2014 he was a guest at the Theater Royal Haymarket in the role of Alan Dangle in the stage comedy One Man, Two Guvnors by Richard Bean .

In May / June 2014, Thorburn also appeared in Branagh's Macbeth production in New York City as part of the Park Avenue Armory performances.

In July / August 2015 Thorburn was a guest at the Gate Theater in Dublin as a student Aleksei Nikolayevich Belyaev in the comedy A Month in the Country by Ivan Turgenev .

Thorburn made his film debut in the British film Everywhere and Nowhere (2011). In the BBC miniseries Our World War (2014) he played a "heroic officer" from the First World War .

In January 2016, Thorburn was seen in the two-part, German-language television film The Pillars of Power in the male lead. Thorburn, the only actor to speak his dialogues in English , played the banker's son Hugh Pilaster.

Thorburn is in a relationship with British actress Sophie Robinson ; the couple live in north London.
