Dominik Naab

Dominik Naab (born July 13, 1985 in Lörrach ) was Federal Chairman of the German Scouting Association Saint Georg (DPSG) from February 1, 2013 to September 30, 2018 .

education and profession

Naab attended the Hans-Thoma-Gymnasium in Lörrach and passed his Abitur there in 2005. From 2006 he studied political science, public law and history at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and at Sciences Po in Paris. He completed his studies in January 2013 as a Magister Artium .

Naab has its roots in the Brombach scout tribe St. Josef and has been a member there since 1994. He is one of the initiators of the Lörrach Youth Parliament, has passed through all boy scout levels in Brombach and was also active as a leader. Dominik Naab has been involved in the federal working group for the Wölflinge age group (7 to 10 years) since 2010 and was previously a speaker at the Wölflings level in the Diocesan Association of Freiburg from 2006 to 2009.

In June 2012, Dominik Naab was elected federal chairman by the Federal Assembly of the German Scouting Association Sankt Georg. He took up his post on February 1, 2013 and has since headed the association in a dual leadership position. Since 2013 he has also been one of two chairmen of the Ring of German Scout Associations (RdP). In October 2013 he was elected deputy chairman of the German Federal Youth Council for two years . At the 83rd Federal Assembly of the DPSG in May 2017, Naab announced that he would not be available for re-election as federal chairman or as deputy chairman of the German Federal Youth Council.

Dominik Naab was co-opted as a member of the Council for Sustainable Development from November 2017 to June 2019 , where he was to work on educational and youth projects. As a representative of the German Federal Youth Association, he was previously a member of the “National Platform Education for Sustainable Development ”.

In addition to his involvement with the German Scouting Association Sankt Georg, Dominik Naab worked as a referee in the Hochrhein district of the South Baden Football Association from 2000 to 2005. Naab was active as a player with SC Haagen, FV Brombach, SG 05 Wiesenbach and DJK-FC Ziegelhausen-Peterstal.
