The Domkar Monastery ( Tibetan , inscription after Wylie 'dom dkar dgon ) is a monastery of the Karma Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism , which dates back to the 12th century. It is located in the town of Yushu of Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu Tibetan in the Chinese province of Qinghai . It goes back roughly to the time of Düsum Khyenpa (1110–1193), the first lama in the incarnation series of the Karmapas and founder of this order.

The abbot of the monastery is the 18th Dulmo Chöje Rinpoche , Karma Shedrub Tendzin Thrinle Pelsang .

The monastery has been on the list of monuments of Qinghai Province since 2004 .
