Don Heitler

Donald "Don" or "Donnie" Heitler (born August 25, 1936 in Pekin , Illinois ; † March 25, 2018 ) was an American jazz musician ( piano , organ ).

Live and act

In the early 1970s, Heitler played in Los Angeles as organist with Urbie Green ( Green Power , 1971) and in George Shearing's band , with whom he made recordings in 1972/73. In 1973 he performed at the Muggs jazz club in New York . In the following years he was active in the music scene of Champaign-Urbana ( Illinois ) and appeared as a soloist in restaurants; u. a. He played with the formation Medicare 7, 8 or 9 as well as with Rudy James and his Dixieland Ensemble. As an arranger he worked with Tim Green & Trio Cambia ( Change of Seasons , 2008). In the field of jazz he was involved in nine recording sessions between 1972 and 2013, most recently with vibraphonist Kevin Hart.
