Donald "Don" Kitch (born July 16, 1947 in Los Angeles ) is a former American car racing driver and racing team owner.

Racing career

After many years as an amateur racing driver, Don Kitch began professional motorsport in 1992. That year he drove his first races in the IMSA supercar series . In 1995 he made his debut at the Daytona 24-hour race , where he competed a total of 18 times by 2012 . His best place in this 24-hour race was seventh in the overall standings in 2003 . Partners in the Lola B2K / 40, which he himself reported, were Ross Bentley as well as Joe and Justin Pruskowski .

In 2009 he came to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with his team and drivers Patrick Dempsey and Joe Foster . The trio finished 30th overall and ninth in the GT2 class in the Ferrari F430 GTC .

Team Seattle

In 1997, Don Kitch founded his own racing team with Team Seattle. The team is a special case in international motorsport. The entire income from racing flowed into the Heart of Racing Foundation , which financially supports the Seattle Children's Hospital in Seattle . Since 1997, 5 million were US dollar retracted and placed in the foundation. The team formed several partnerships with other teams to keep racing costs down. Partners included Alex Job Racing , The Racer's Group , AF Corse and Farnbacher Racing .
