Donata's Lapienis
Donatas Lapienis (born April 8, 1936 in Kaunas , † April 10, 2014 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian chess player and designer .
Life
In 1960 Lapienis graduated from the Ural Forest Technology Institute in Sverdlovsk . From 1960 to 1971 he worked as a designer at the Vilnius Electrography Research Institute . From 1971 to 1973 Lapienis was a designer in the “Orgtechnika” design office. From 1973 to 1983 he worked as a chess trainer at the Vilnius Sports School and from 1983 to 1992 in Elektrėnai . Among other things belonged Salvijus Berčys to his students.
From 1979 Lapienis carried the title of correspondence chess grandmaster. He was also a FIDE Master (FM). In 1994 it had an Elo rating of 2350.
Lapienis was the author of eleven inventions.
