Content

Compared to its predecessor, hand-to-hand combat has been expanded to include fist fighting, and there is also a flamethrower. With the weapons, the player is given the choice between different fire modes for the first time. The damage done to enemies is now also visually visible through gashes and shattered armor. The game speed has increased compared to Doom (2016), among other things due to the introduction of jumps. In addition, the game mechanics are complemented by weak points on opponents compared to the predecessor. There is no pistol in the arsenal, but there are some new weapons and gadgets such as a "shotgun grapple".

In the multiplayer mode , Doom Eternal does not have a death match, but only a battle mode, in which two demons controlled by the player fight a Doom slayer.
