The evangelical village church Blücher is a neo-Gothic hall church in the district of Blücher owned in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It belongs to the Evangelical Church Community of Blücher in the Parchim Propstei of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany (Northern Church).

History and architecture

Although the village of Blücher is mentioned in the Ratzeburg tithe register as early as 1230 , little is known about the first church in Blücher. Until 1876 there was a building near the site of today's church that, according to old representations, could have been a half-timbered church or a Gothic hall building with a rotated spire.

The Blücher village church is a stately, neo-Gothic, carefully executed brick building from the years 1874–1876 with a two-bay, three-sided closed choir with rib vault, polygonal extensions and west tower, similar to the town church in Dömitz . The nave is finished off with a wooden ceiling over belt arches and sides that are closed like a chapel. The interior is illuminated by two and three-lane windows with ring tracery. Rose windows with four-pass tracery are arranged in the Vorchorjoch. A west portal with rich wrought iron fittings and two terracotta quatrefoil medallions arranged above it, as well as two simple side portals with vestibules in the vestibule yoke, open up the building. Two polygonal sacristy buildings are attached to the Chorjoch .

Due to damage to the roof covering and penetrating moisture, the church suffered sponge damage in the area of the roof and ceiling construction around 2005 , which required emergency security.

Furnishing

Most of the equipment comes from the construction period. It consists of a simple neo-Gothic retable with an image of Christ blessing, a wooden pulpit and an octagonal baptismal font. The offering box from 1635 and a crucifix were taken from the previous building. The bell today consists of two steel bells from 1928. The bell from 1472 with the tone G sharp 1 +2.5 is now kept in the Museum of the Duchy of Lüneburg.
