Village church Klein Bünzow

The Protestant village church Klein Bünzow is a religious building from the 13th century in the municipality of the same name Klein Bünzow in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

history

Little is known about the history of the building. Even the information on the construction time is contradictory. In the Dehio manual, for example, the 15th century is specified, while the parish itself specifies the 13th century as the construction period. So far, only one renovation is known in 1993.

Epitaph from Schumacher

The hall church was built from field stones and provided with light-colored plaster . No statement can therefore be made about the quality of the processing and the stratification of the field stones without a closer examination. In this way, it is also not possible to provide any information as to whether conclusions can be drawn about additions or modifications to any existing construction seams. Only the segmental arched windows suggest that they are from more recent times.

The simple west portal is closed by a reddish-painted, double-winged door. It is decorated with a chamfered drapery , above which there is a holder for a torch. In the gable above, also lightly plastered, three anchors can be seen. On the north and south sides there are three symmetrically arranged, rectangular windows, each highlighted with a bottle . The east side, including the gable, is also plastered in white. There are two rectangular windows with bezels on the ground floor. A central wooden door with three anchors above can be seen in the gable. The gable roof is covered with red roof tiles.

Furnishing

In the interior there is a small pulpit altar from the beginning of the 18th century, other sources give the 17th century. He is a Bandelwerk in with pilasters decorated structured parapet windows. Experts suspect that the pulpit and altar were originally set up separately from each other. In addition, in the church there are patronage stalls and a closed and glazed preacher's stalls, which also date from the 18th century. The rest of the church stalls are from 1954 and 1955. The interior has a flat ceiling.

To the left of the west portal on the outside of the building there is a grave slab reminding of the demoiselle Charlotte Regine Schuhmacher (1742–1803). To the west of the building is a free-standing belfry with a bell from 1911.

In the surrounding cemetery there are some grave cheeks from the 18th and 19th centuries as well as a memorial for those who died in the world wars. It is surrounded by a dry stone wall.
