history

This church is a fortified church from the 13th century. The walls are equipped with loopholes , the tower with a crenellated wreath . The existence of an underground exit behind the altar is claimed. Four sound openings were added later with the receipt of the bells as well as the conical tip.

In the nave there are two galleries , a baroque pulpit altar and a winged altar from the 16th century, which stood in the Sigismund Chapel in Plaue until 1958 .

The central figure of the altar is a knight with armor. There is a pietà in the church .

The organ is from Stadtilm from the 19th century.

The year 1956 above the current entrance probably indicates a renovation. The former main portal with round arches is walled up.

Inside was renovated in 2000. In 2013 the roof was covered.
