location

The village church stands in the middle of the district, surrounded by the cemetery and protected by a wall. The former school is to the northwest.

history

Around 1200, the residents of Kleinliehaben built a stone church that also served as a fortified church . The structure was built in three stages. The building of the chapel was followed by the building of the tower and finally the lengthening of the nave in the 18th century. The owners of the two manors that had been formed in the meantime organized and supported the construction.

After the church in Großliehaben burned down in 1630 , the Kleinliebringer church was used by both parishes simultaneously for 25 years , with the church being entered through separate entrances.

The house of God

The floor plan is rectangular (25.91 meters by 8.6 meters). The height is 11.07 meters. The tower has a height of 24.91 meters. The parish does not have an organ , but a harmonium . During the times of the GDR the renovation of the church began, which has only now been completed.
