history
The church is said to have been built as a chapel in the 12th century . In 1143 the village belonged to the Peterskloster in Erfurt . It is believed that the monks first built a chapel for the Fronhof , which with its land and buildings is still directly connected to the northwest and west. The Meinhardt family owned the property until 1945 and was expropriated .
Remains of the chapel have been found in the church, also in a round arched portal and funnel walls (lintel and sill). When the place was sold several times to other owners, the church remained under the supervision of the Erfurt Cathedral Monastery . The pastoral care was provided by the parish of Großliehaben . It is assumed that during the Saxon fratricidal war between 1447 and 1450, when the armies of Duke Wilhelm and Elector Friedrich II of Saxony as well as the Counts of Schwarzburg-Leutenberg passed through, the chapel and the Deubedörfer ( large sweets , small sweets and Geilsdorf ) were affected are.
The church was always rebuilt and enlarged, the last in 1722. From 1985 to 1989 the lantern was removed . In 1876 the wall was built around the cemetery with the church. The house is slated .
