The village church Kleinmachnow is the Protestant church in the Brandenburg community of Kleinmachnow .

history

The church was completed in 1597 by order of Margarete von Hake , née von der Schulenburg . Built next to Machnow Castle (the later so-called "Old Hakeburg", destroyed in 1943), the old village church Kleinmachnow is one of the first Protestant church buildings in the Mark Brandenburg.

The church, which initially belonged to the estate of the Kleinmachnower landowner family von Hake , served the influential noble family for representation, for church services and funerals (until 1597 the village church of Stahnsdorf was the grave of Machnower Hake). When the street village of Kleinmachnow was built in the middle of the 17th century, public services were held in Kleinmachnow and Stahnsdorf .

Today the church is located on the extreme southern outskirts, as Kleinmachnow expanded further and further north. When Kleinmachnow expanded in the 1920s and 1930s, a parish hall was built at the other end of the village and expanded into the Church of the Resurrection in 1953. In 1993 the village church was transferred from state ownership to the community of Kleinmachnow and has been restored since then. It is used for church services, weddings and many other events. The church and the enclosure are listed .

The writer Theodor Fontane described the church in the walks through the Mark Brandenburg in 1882 as follows:

“It is a surprisingly pleasant, almost finely stylized brick building [...] charmingly situated between trees and ivy graves and surrounded by a stone wall. One wall of the church clearly bears the inscription 'Casparus jacket, master mason of Potsdam 1597', but it is very likely that he only restored the church. The substructure, up to the beginning of the windows, is in any case much older, and the difference in the stones that is definitely emerging has led to the legend that two sisters built the church and used light and dark bricks to distinguish their part can."

On the north side of the village church are the crypt chapel from 1703 and several memorial stones for von Hakes.

Interior decoration

The double convertible winged altar was carved by Hans Zinckeisen from Berlin in 1599. The predella shows Moses in front of the burning bush, the Lord's Supper in the shrine, and 4 passion scenes on the wings. In the first change one sees eight painted scenes from the life of Christ, on the outside of the wing a painted Annunciation.

The richly decorated baptismal font from 1597, the carved lid of which is crowned by an angel, was made by Nickel Zinckeisen .

Various things are reminiscent of the von Hake family: Remnants of ten flags that Ernst Ludwig von Hake (1651–1713) dedicated to his brothers who died in the Turkish wars, a memorial stone that he erected in memory of his parents, and above it a sword and two spurs that belonged to Mr. von Schlabrendorf, who fell in a duel. There is also the epitaph of General Friedrich von Hake († 1743) and several coats of arms.

The pulpit clock made in 1711 is a rarity .
