The village church of Lichterfelde is a stone church in the district of Lichterfelde of the municipality of Schorfheide in the Barnim district of Brandenburg . It belongs to the Barnim parish of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Schlesische Oberlausitz and can be visited after registration.

History and architecture

The hall church dates from the middle of the 13th century. The narrower west transverse tower was built in the 14th century from uncut field stones and is decorated on the upper floor with twin panels, which are covered by round arch panels. The brick edges were repaired in 1716 and at the same time the boarded tower with a tent roof was erected. In 1728 a box extension with a crypt was built on the south side of the choir .

The interior is provided with a plastered ceiling on a rounded base and a three-sided gallery on Tuscan columns from 1728. The patron's box in the south opens up to the choir with two broad arches with wooden parapets.

Furnishing

The main piece of equipment is a pulpit altar from 1728, the polygonal basket of which is framed by Corinthian columns with a hood-like sound cover and crowned by a gable and side vases. The octagonal wooden baptism with corner pillars was created in 1617 and shows images of Christ and the apostles in diamond-coated round arches. A colored double epitaph made of sandstone with the year 1680 was created for Friedrich Otto von der Gröben (1619–97) and his wife (1630–1705); the two fields are bordered by Ionic pilasters that support an entablature. The deceased is depicted with armor in strong relief in front of a flat niche, an inscription in the coat of arms commemorates his wife. A wooden, colored epitaph of the Sparr family's coat of arms from the second half of the 17th century is adorned with crowned putti and a richly carved frame made of flower tendrils. Three children's tombstones from 1595, 1600 and 1604 are decorated with relief figures. The organ is a work by Lang & Dinse from 1857 with seven registers on a manual and pedal , which was rebuilt in 1995 by Ulrich Fahlberg .

A silver-gold-plated chalice dates from 1651, a baptismal bowl and jug made of brass from 1661. A pair of bronze candlesticks was created in the middle of the 17th century, a bell in 1887 by C. Voss & Sohn from Stettin.
