The Protestant village church Quilow is a listed church building in Quilow , a district of Groß Polzin in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ).

history

The neo-Gothic brick building closes with a flat, three-sided choir polygon . It was built from 1886 to 1887 on the foundations of a previous rectangular building. The gable with a rising frieze and a pilaster structure is crowned by a turret. The choir is divided by diagonal buttresses , the windows in the walls of the nave are high and ogival and partly lead-glazed. A flat wooden ceiling spans the nave, the flat ceiling in the choir is plastered. The belfry stands free next to the church building. In the churchyard surrounding the church there is a coat of arms tombstone for JP Artemski from 1727.

Furnishing

Most of the furnishings come from the time the church was built,

  • A weathered grave slab from the period after 1591 shows the couple Roloff von Owstin and Anna von Platen in a bas-relief .
  • Two carved epitaphs from 1676 and 1677 were made for the Lords of Owstin.
  • Two oil paintings from around 1600 show Melanchthon and Luther .
  • The altar has a three-part top, structured by pinnacles , it is crowned by eyelashes . The carved figures in the main field of the altar are kept modern, they are the work of Gerhard Becker.
  • The organ stands on a neo-Gothic prospect ; Barnim Grüneberg from Stettin built it in 1887.
  • The polygonal pulpit is decorated with clover-leaf arches
