history

The village church is a late Gothic hall church . Including a previous building, it was built between the 11th and 13th centuries. In the 15th century it was extended to the west and added to the same width as the choir .

The winged altar from 1500 was built in a workshop in Saalfeld. In the raised wing part Mary can be seen with the baby Jesus on the crescent moon . Saints are depicted on the left and right. The Annunciation and the birth of Jesus are depicted on the outside . In 1933 this winged altar was restored.

The pulpit was installed in 1990. The interior looks like it was painted in 1850.

There are two bells in the church tower. One dates from 1588 and was cast in Braunschweig . The other was cast by the bell foundry in Apolda in 1980.
