The Protestant village church of Trebenow is a late Gothic hall church in the Trebenow district of the Uckerland community in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg . It belongs to the parish of Hetzdorf in the Provostei Pasewalk ( Pomeranian Evangelical Church District ) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .

History and architecture

The church is a plastered rectangular hall made of irregular mixed masonry of field stone and brick with a square west tower from the 15th century. According to the date above the arched north portal, the building was renewed around 1600 with arched window frames. The slated top part of the tower closes with a curved hood and lantern , which were probably put on in 1695.

After a long period of neglect, renovation work began in 1975 as part of an international youth camp run by Aktion Sühnezeichen to drain the masonry against rising damp and to clean up the cemetery. A restoration was carried out between 1988 and 1990.

In the east gable, which is occupied by pinnacles , two large brick panels are arranged, underneath is a slightly staggered group of three windows. Inside the building is finished with a wooden ceiling; During a restoration, a wall painting with a depiction of St. Christopher with the Christ child from the end of the 15th century was uncovered in the south . In the south and east windows there are five cabinet panes from around 1600, which were reinstalled after a restoration in 2016.

Furnishing

The decor is very simple and consists of a simple wooden baptism from the first half of the 18th century. The west gallery with the neo-Gothic organ prospect in the parapet dates from the second half of the 19th century (similar to the church in Werbelow). An iron-studded chest was created in 1718. The brass baptismal bowl dates from the end of the 17th century. The altar crucifix and the cast iron candlesticks were created in 1820/1830. A bell was cast in 1763 by Johann Heinrich Scheel from Stettin.

The organ is a work by the Dinse brothers from 1867 with eight stops on a manual and pedal . The disposition is:
