Trebenow is part of the Uckerland municipality in Brandenburg . It is made up of the districts of Bandelow, Neumannshof, Werbelow and the village of Trebenow.

history

On December 31, 2001, the community of Trebenow was merged with ten other communities to form the new community of Uckerland.

Districts

Trebenow has about 160 inhabitants. The first written mention of the place comes from 1321. The name of the place comes from the personal name Treben .

Village church in Werbelow

Bandelow has about 250 inhabitants. The village was first mentioned in 1312 as in villa Bandlow . It appeared under its current name in the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375. The place name was derived from the personal name Bandel . The village church was originally built in the 13th century. It was destroyed in a fire in 1898 and then rebuilt. In 1985 the church tower collapsed and was never rebuilt. The Bandelow war memorial is also worth seeing.

Werbelow was first mentioned in a document in 1343. Already at that time under its current name which is derived either from the Slavic personal name Warbl or its meaning Sperling . Another interpretation says that the name originated from the words willow and tree . In the village there is a church from the 16th century. Its lattice tower had to be demolished in 1964 because it was dilapidated and was not rebuilt.

Neumannshof is the smallest of the villages and has only about 27 inhabitants.
