Doris Hummer (born August 9, 1973 in Grieskirchen ) is an Austrian politician and entrepreneur. From 2009 to 2015 she was regional councilor for education, science and research, women and youth in the Upper Austrian regional government ( regional government Pühringer IV ). From 2015 to 2017 she was a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament .

Life

After graduating from the commercial academy in Wels (1992), she studied economics at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz from 1992–1997 . At that time she was active in the Catholic university community in Linz and was also its chairman for a while.

After completing her studies, she first worked in her parents' business Domico in Vöcklamarkt . In 2002 she founded her own company with a former student colleague (Sabine Koch) with the aim of market research, customer and employee satisfaction .

After the regional elections in Upper Austria in 2009, she was surprisingly nominated to the regional government by the ÖVP and from October 23, 2009 regional councilor responsible for education, science and research, women and youth , she was the first female member of the ÖVP in the Upper Austrian regional government.

Around three weeks after the state elections in Upper Austria in 2015 , Doris Hummer lost a ballot in the ÖVP state party executive and thus lost her position as regional councilor. Hummer has been the head of the Upper Austrian Economic Association since April 2016, succeeding Christoph Leitl . In addition, she has been President of the Upper Austria Chamber of Commerce since June 2017, succeeding Rudolf Trauner junior .

On September 21, 2017, Elisabeth Kölblinger was sworn in as the successor to Doris Hummer as a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament.
