State government Pühringer IV

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The provincial government Pühringer IV formed the Upper Austrian provincial government in the XXVII. Legislative period (2009 to 2015). The provincial government was elected by the Upper Austrian Landtag on October 23, 2009 and subsequently sworn in. Due to the proportional representation system , all parliamentary groups are also represented in the state government.

In the state elections in 2009 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) won 5 out of 9 seats in government and thus gained one member of the government. As a result, the ÖVP achieved an absolute majority in the state government for the first time since 1991. The Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ), on the other hand, lost two of its former four government mandates and subsequently only provided the 2nd deputy governor instead of the 1st deputy governor. The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) was able to move back into the state government with a member of the government after the heavy losses in 2003, while the Greens Upper Austria(Greens) could just keep their seat of government. As in 2003, the ÖVP and the Greens concluded a labor agreement after the election.

In October 2010, Stockinger resigned from the state government due to a change in the insurance industry. Most of his responsibilities were taken on by Provincial Councilor Hiegelsberger, childcare for Provincial Councilor Hummer and development aid abroad by Governor Pühringer.
