State government Gleißner IV
The provincial government Gleißner IV under governor Heinrich Gleißner (ÖVP) formed the Upper Austrian provincial government during the XVI. Legislative period of the Upper Austrian Landtag from December 13, 1945 to November 4, 1949. The Gleißner IV provincial government was succeeded by the Gleißner V provincial government .
After the state elections in 1945 , the first freely elected state government of the 2nd republic could be sworn in. She succeeded the Gleißner III provisional cabinet appointed by the Allies . Many members of the previous government were taken over into the new government. If the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ) had a provisional councilor in the provisional government, this provincial council fell to the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) after the election , which now provided six of the nine government members. The remaining three members of the government were sent by the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). State councilors Anton Azwanger (SPÖ) and Felix Kern (ÖVP) were new to the government . The term of office was overshadowed by several deaths. Franz Lorenzoni died on June 5, 1948, he was succeeded by Franz Breitwieser as Regional Finance Councilor, Felix Kern took over Lorenzioni's position as Deputy Governor. Anton Azwanger (SPÖ) died on January 31, 1949, and Franz Plasser took over his office on March 2, 1949 . After the death of Anton Weidinger (SPÖ) on March 19, 1949, Rudolf Kolb joined the state government on May 18, 1949.
