State government Gleißner VI
The provincial government Gleißner VI under governor Heinrich Gleißner (ÖVP) formed the Upper Austrian provincial government during the XVIII. Legislative period of the Upper Austrian Landtag from November 19, 1955 to November 16, 1961. The Gleißner VI provincial government was followed by the Gleißner VII provincial government .
Due to the heavy losses of the Freedom Electoral Community in the state elections in 1955 , which had started as the electoral party of the Independent (WdU) in 1949 , the party left the government again. The two government seats of the WdU fell to the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). The ÖVP subsequently provided five of the nine government members, the SPÖ four members of the government for the first time in the 2nd Republic. The SPÖ government team remained unchanged from the previous government Gleißner V , the additional seat of government was taken by Stefan Demuth . In the ÖVP, following the resignation of the provincial governor Felix Kern at the end of the previous legislative period, the previous provincial councilor Johann Blöchl was elected as provincial governor's deputy. Theodor Pritsch and Erwin Wenzl joined the government as additional state councilors in 1955 . There were no changes in the composition of the state government during the legislative period.
