State election in Upper Austria in 1955
The state elections in Upper Austria in 1955 took place on October 23, 1955 . The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) achieved an absolute majority of mandates by gaining votes , while the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) was able to significantly improve its result by gaining even larger votes. This was at the expense of the Freedom Electoral Community, which halved its result.
