Election to the 14th state parliament in Upper Austria

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The election to the 14th state parliament in Upper Austria must take place in 2021 at the latest. However, an earlier election after the premature dissolution of the state parliament is possible.

Starting position

After the " Ibiza Affair " became known in May 2019, the SPÖ announced that it would submit a new election application. Nevertheless, the Upper Austrian People's Party is sticking to the labor agreement with the FPÖ, but with the demand that Elmar Podgorschek resign. He followed the request and resigned as Security Councilor on May 20. In the state parliament session on May 23, Wolfgang Klinger was elected and sworn in as his successor .

In July 2020, the Greens of Upper Austria elected state councilor and state spokesman Stefan Kaineder as the top candidate for the state elections.
