Provincial government Wenzl I

The provincial government Wenzl I under governor Erwin Wenzl (ÖVP) formed the Upper Austrian provincial government in the XX. Legislative period of the Upper Austrian Landtag from the election of Wenzl as governor on May 3, 1971 to the end of the legislative period on November 15, 1973. The provincial government of Gleißner V was followed by the provincial government of Wenzl II .

When Gleißner withdrew as governor on May 2, 1971, the term of office of the Gleißner V state government ended . Thereupon on May 3, 1971 the previous Deputy Governor Erwin Wenzl was elected governor. Heinrich Wildfellner left the government with Gleißner, and Lelio Spannocchi, Member of the National Council, and Rudolf Trauner, Member of the State Parliament , moved up as members of the regional council on May 3rd . The former regional councilor Gerhard Possart took over the role of deputy governor in May 1971 . The SPÖ team initially remained unchanged compared to the previous government. During the term of office of the Wenzl I government, the Deputy Governor Stefan Demuth (SPÖ) resigned from office on October 16, 1972 after a heart attack. Regional Councilor Josef Fridl was elected as his successor on the same day, and Ernst Neuhauser, the former National Councilor, succeeded him on October 24, 1972 . Even Fritz Enge resigned on March 23, 1973 prematurely from office, for him, the previous member of parliament was the same day Hermann Reichl elected to succeed.
