This list of the members of the Upper Austrian Landtag (18th legislative period) lists all the members of the Upper Austrian Landtag in the XVIII. Legislative period. The legislative period lasted from November 19, 1955 to November 16, 1961, the deputies were sworn in on November 19, 1961. After the state elections in 1955 , 25 of the 48 mandates went to the ÖVP , 19 to the SPÖ and 4 to the Freedom Electoral Community ( FW). Compared to the previous legislative period, the ÖVP and SPÖ were able to grow strongly, the loser was the electoral party of the Independents , which had started as the Freedom Electoral Community after the founding of the FPÖ. After the inauguration, the state parliament elected the state government Gleißner VII , which held office for the entire legislative period.
Functions
Landtag President
Matthias Hödlmoser (ÖVP) took over the office of First President of the State Parliament again at the beginning of the legislative period. Even Franz Harringer was re-elected as second President of the Parliament. The third state award was Jakob Mayr from the ÖVP.
Club chairmen
The club chairman of the ÖVP was Johann Blöchl , the state parliament president Jakob Mayr took over the deputy position. In the SPÖ, Ludwig Bernaschek held the function of club chairman, he was represented by Franz Plasser . Alois Bachinger was elected club chairman at the FPÖ , Friedrich Peter was his deputy.
