Franz Leitenbauer
Franz Leitenbauer (born October 8, 1925 in Mollmannsreith , † January 14, 2016 in Atzesberg ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).
Live and act
Between 1955 and 1988 he was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag for more than six terms . Along with Alois Bachinger and Ignaz Huber, he is one of the Upper Austrian state parliament members with the longest terms of office.
From 1955 to 1996 he was mayor of the municipality of Atzesberg in the Rohrbach district for more than forty years .
Infrastructure projects such as the regional hospital in Rohrbach , the HTL in Neufelden and the agricultural school in Schlägl are closely associated with him. He was a supporter of social projects in rural areas and was considered an advocate for the common people. Reinhold Mitterlehner described him as one of his political role models. In addition to his political functions, he was u. a. Chairman of the Raiffeisenkasse Sarleinsbach and the Rohrbach warehouse cooperative as well as chairman of the Sarleinsbach Comradeship Association . He was also a supraregional member of the board of trustees of the agricultural settlement fund, state board member of the farmers 'and part-time farmers' association , board member of the Upper Austrian Raiffeisen Association and Upper Austrian Goods Brokerage.
