Alois Bachinger

Alois Bachinger (born April 13, 1914 in Gaspoltshofen ; † September 28, 1988 there ) was an Austrian politician ( VdU / FPÖ ) and farmer. He was a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament , FPÖ club chairman and third state parliament president.

education and profession

Bachinger attended secondary school after primary school and came to the Mölders Jagdgeschwader as an aviator after the outbreak of World War II in 1939 . In 1945 he was ensigned in the Air Force on the island of Bornholm and was taken prisoner by the Soviets and returned from the same year. In 1947 he took over his parents' farm in Gaspoltshofen as a farmer.

Politics and functions

Bachinger was already active at a young age in the youth organization of the Landbund and worked there between 1931 and 1934 as district chairman. He was also involved in the German Gymnastics Federation and the Südmark school association. Because of his participation in the July coup , he was imprisoned for three months in the Wöllersdorf detention center in 1934 .

After the Second World War he was one of the founding members of the Association of Independents and was elected deputy chairman of the Upper Austria regional group in 1949 and also served as district chairman for the Grieskirchen district from 1951. He remained in his position as deputy chairman until 1953 and was re-elected to this function in 1955 in the successor party of the Association of Independents, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). He was also the district chairman of the FPÖ-Grieskirchen until 1970.

As a political mandate, he was active as a local councilor as well as a member of the Gaspoltshofen local council from 1955, and was also a member of the state parliament for around 36 years. Between November 5, 1949 and November 18, 1955, he was a representative of the VdU and then until October 27, 1985, a representative of the FPÖ in the state parliament. From his inauguration until November 15, 1973, he held the office of club chairman of his parliamentary group and was president of the state parliament for many years. He held the position of Third President of the State Parliament between November 17, 1954 and November 18, 1955, was second President of the State Parliament from November 17, 1967 to November 15, 1973 and then took over again from November 16, 1973 to October 27, 1985 the office of the Third President of the State Parliament. In addition, Bachinger was a long time member of the committees for roads, immunity and economics. He was also Mayor of Gaspoltshofen from October 22, 1967 to October 21, 1973.

Bachinger was also the FPÖ's agricultural officer between 1963 and 1972, from 1965 a member of the Grieskirchen district school council, from 1972 a member of the regional planning advisory board and agricultural settlement fund and from 1972 a member of the agricultural settlement fund. He also worked as a member of the Social Welfare Advisory Board, as a member of the Mountain Farmers' Commission and as a member of the administrative committee of Sparkasse Haag am Hausruck . He was also a member of the supervisory board of the Upper Austria cable television company and a member of the Upper Austria land traffic commission.

Private

Bachinger was born as the son of the mayor of Gaspoltshofen and Landbund functionary Johann Bachinger, his uncle Franz Bachinger was also a politician. Alois Bachinger married Josefine Heitzinger in 1947 and had a son and a daughter.
