Ferdinand Reisinger (politician)

Ferdinand Reisinger (born July 13, 1928 in Wels ; † August 17, 1998 in Marchtrenk ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and federal railway official. He was mayor of Marchtrenk, from 1967 to 1991 member of the state parliament and from 1982 to 1991 second president of the Upper Austrian state parliament .

education and profession

After attending elementary school in Wels, Reisinger switched to the local secondary school and in 1942 took up the job of railroad employee. In 1944 he had to do the Reich Labor Service and was then called up for military service in the Wehrmacht . After his return from the war in May 1945, he returned to Wels and, after having passed various exams, was employed as a dispatcher for the Austrian Federal Railways . In 1965 he rose to become a specialist at the Linz Federal Railway Directorate .

Politics and functions

After the Second World War , Reisinger joined the Social Democratic Party of Austria in 1946 and in 1953 took over the internal party function of SPÖ party chairman von Marchtrenk. In addition, he was also active as a sports functionary in the ASKÖ . He was elected to the council of Marchtrenk in 1955 and held the office of Vice Mayor of Marchtrenk between 1964 and May 17, 1969. On May 17, 1969, he became mayor of this community, as he was from then on until January 4, 1990. He was also a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament from November 17, 1967, and exercised this mandate until October 29, 1991. He was also the second President of the State Parliament from October 21, 1982 until he left the State Parliament.

Private

Reisinger was born as one of four siblings in Wels. He married Herta Dimmler in 1953 and had a son and a daughter with her.
