Hans Rödhammer

Hans Rödhammer (born December 23, 1909 in Eberschwang , Upper Austria , † March 17, 1998 in Linz ) was an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP).

Life

Hans Rödhammer first completed a six-year elementary school , then a community school in Ried im Innkreis and graduated from the Episcopal Teachers' College in Linz in 1928. In the same year he received his license as a teacher.

Rödhammer worked from 1929 to 1934 as a teacher at the elementary school in Taufkirchen an der Pram and then found a job at the Episcopal Teachers' Training Institute between 1934 and 1938 . In 1938, shortly after the annexation to the German Reich, he was dismissed from his profession. Then he became a teacher at a secondary school in Steyr . After the war, Rödhammer was able to continue his job seamlessly and found work at the federal teacher training institute in Linz . In 1965 he was promoted to the state school inspector .

Hans Rödhammer's political career began in 1956 when he was elected to the National Council as a member of the ÖVP in June of the same year . He held his mandate for three years until September 1959. In 1961 he was elected as a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament , where he sat for twelve years until 1973 and mainly dealt with educational agendas. For example, he was a member of the Upper Austria State School Committee and from 1961 to 1967 was the Executive President of the Upper Austria State School Council. From 1967 to 1973 he was the third president of the state parliament. Within the ÖVP he was a member of the Austrian Workers' Union (ÖAAB).
