Ernst Dürr (politician)

Ernst Karl Leo Dürr (born October 11, 1921 in Schärding ; † June 26, 2002 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1955 to 1985 he was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

Life

Ernst Dürr graduated from the municipal business school in Passau and also passed the school-leaving exam during his military service. During the Second World War he served for more than five years, was injured several times and was awarded. After the war he was employed by the Chamber of Commerce ; In 1951 he took over the management of the Schärding Chamber of Labor , which he held until 1981.

Dürr was a member of the Schärding District School Board, an assessor at the Schärding Labor Court and from 1949 to 1955 chairman of the members' committee of the Schärding consumption and delivery point . From 1955 to 1972 he was chairman of the sports club ATSV Schärding and from 1968 president of ARBÖ Schärding.

Dürr had been married since 1949 and had one child.

politics

In 1946 Dürr joined the SPÖ. From 1948 to 1951 he was district party secretary and, until 1952, district chairman of the Socialist Youth. From 1955 Dürr was district party chairman and a member of the state party executive of the SPÖ. In the same year Dürr was elected to the Upper Austrian Landtag, to which he was a member until 1985. From 1968 to 1973 he was deputy club chairman of the SPÖ, from 1973 to 1974 club chairman.

In 1948 Dürr moved into the town council of Schärding; In 1955 he became a city councilor and chairman of the hospital committee. From 1973 to 1979 Dürr was Deputy Mayor of Schärding.
