Dornau is a village and a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Schönau an der Triesting in the Baden district in Lower Austria .

The Rotte Dornau is located east of Leobersdorf and consists of the small Dornau Castle with a chapel and a garden as well as the adjoining estate with a sheep farm.

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there was a total of 118 building areas with 61,452 m² and 122 gardens on 158,433 m² in the cadastral municipality of Dornau, in 1989/1990 there were 112 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 288 and in 2009/2010 there were 117 buildings on 347 building areas.

Agriculture

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 77 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 1 hectare was forest land. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 78 hectares and 1 hectare was designated as forest land. At the end of 2018, 23 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 5 hectares. The average soil climate in Dornau is 57.5 (as of 2010).
