The mountain is located in the Schwarzenmoor district of Herford, near the border with the Vlotho district of Exter . It lies on the edge of the Ravensberg hill country and is one of the most north-westerly mountains of the Lipper mountains . A little west of the Dornberg is the Eggeberg , with which it forms a mountain ridge, so to speak. To the east of the Dornberg lies the Steinegge . Federal Motorway 2 runs south of the Dornberg .
