Dorothea Ernst (* 1949 in Gaildorf , Schwäbisch Hall district ) is a German vocal performer and vocal artist.

Life

Dorothea Ernst has lived in Böbingen an der Rems since 1989 . She is married to the painter and draftsman Uwe Ernst and has a daughter.

From 1986 to 1994 she completed a vocal training with Ruthild Geyer (Schwäbisch Gmünd) and from 1997 to 2001 she completed speaking and vocal training with Christa Hummel (Stuttgart).

Since 1994 Dorothea Ernst has been setting her lyrical texts for voice in specially designed graphic and color representation. The complex scores are composed text graphics and libretto at the same time .

A cycle of pictures on the St. Matthew Passion , which her husband, the artist Uwe Ernst, completed in 2002, became the basis of the multimedia project In Principle: Hope. Audiovisual concert on the mechanics of suffering. Five scenes for images and sounds made of black chalk . Dorothea Ernst contributed texts and interpreted them personally at the premiere on October 20, 2002 in the Ostalbkreishaus Aalen . In addition to Uwe and Dorothea Ernst, the audio artist Otto Kränzler and the video artist Roland Barth also worked on the project.
