biography

Seror grew up as one of four children of a middle class family in the Munich suburb of Obermenzing. After graduating from school, she set off on a trip around the world financed by odd jobs. After many positions she gained a foothold in Haifa , where she ran a grocery store and devoted herself to painting. Back in Germany she had three children. She intensified her autodidactic studies in the area of her artistic activity. Her pictures have been shown in various exhibitions in smaller galleries. At the same time she studied art history, English and Jewish studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

Seror studied painting and graphics with Robin Page at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and created performance-like works. Already as a student she caused a number of "scandals", for example when she presented her examiners as genitals or interpreted the coat of arms of the Upper Bavarian city of Isen by providing the double-tailed Melusine with primary gender characteristics. A lawsuit brought by the city of Isen for denigrating its national emblem was ultimately dismissed by the Bavarian Higher Regional Court.

From 2001 she worked as an art teacher at the grammar school in Tutzing . In 2006 she gave up this secure existence to work as a freelance artist. At the same time, she accepted a teaching position for "artistic performance" at the Munich Art Academy. She used extended trips to the Caribbean, Gambia, Burkina Faso, the Ivory Coast, the USA and many European countries, among other things, for further development of dance performance. She danced in various ensembles and worked on numerous projects by the dancer and choreographer Felix Ruckert . She founded numerous artist groups, including SaDo (1995 with Saba Bussmann), apfel ypsilon (2005 with Saba Bussmann, Manuela Hartel, Aleksandar Spasoski) and White Market (2009 with Claudia Kappenberg). 'White Market' is a label for researching the marketing possibilities of performance art .

In 2012 Seror received the work and advanced training grant from the city of Munich for research on inclusive body images. Since 2011 has been involved in the development of the "Creative Quarter Munich". Her projects include the “Leonrod House for Art”, and she has also organized and curated several festivals and events on the site. Since 2014 she has regularly curated the performance space “break through” and established the interdisciplinary group “Zona Libre” (food sharing, permaculture, solidarity agriculture, art projects, etc.) at the “Kreativ Quartier”.

As a solo artist she has been invited to international biennials in Enschede / Holland and Lagos / Nigeria. She took part in international performance art festivals in Israel, Sweden, Italy, France and China and received artist-in-residence stays in Denmark, England, Holland, Germany, France, Israel and other countries.

Her artistic oeuvre includes performances, videos, installations, objects, directing and much more.
