Dorothee Einsele

Dorothee Einsele (born April 11, 1956 in Kirchheim unter Teck ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

After studying and doing her doctorate (1982) in Tübingen and doing her legal clerkship in Stuttgart , she was a consultant at the Federal Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs in Bonn and then a lawyer in Stuttgart. From 1987 she worked at the University of Konstanz (Center for International Economics). During her habilitation, she did research in Tokyo , New York City and Cambridge in 1989/1990 . After her habilitation in 1992 with the thesis “Securities Law as Law of Obligations - Loss of Function of Securities Deeds in International Legal Relations” and professorships in Konstanz , Leipzig and Heidelberg , she was appointed professor at Heidelberg University in 1994. In October 1994 she took over the chair for civil law, commercial law, European and international private and commercial law, and comparative law in Kiel .

Her main research interests are German and international banking and capital market law.
