Dorothee Hansen
Dorothee Hansen (born September 3, 1963 in Flensburg ) is a German art historian and curator as well as deputy director of the Kunsthalle Bremen .
Life
Dorothee Hansen studied art history , classical archeology and medieval history at the University of Munich . In 1992 she was there with the work The Image of the Order Teacher and the Allegory of Knowledge. A painted Program Augustine in the 14th century in Italy doctorate . From 1992 to 1994 she completed an academic traineeship at the Hamburger Kunsthalle .
Hansen has been the curator of the paintings from the 14th to 19th centuries at the Kunsthalle Bremen since February 1995 and has since been appointed deputy director. Curated to her at the Kunsthalle Bremen and nationally acclaimed art exhibitions include:
- Van Gogh : Fields - the poppy field and the artists' dispute (October 2002 – January 2003)
- Monet and Camille - Portraits of Women in Impressionism (October 2005 – February 2006)
- Edvard Munch - The Mystery Behind the Screen (October 2011 – February 2012)
The Van Gogh exhibition of 2002/03, in which Hansen focused on his late work Mohnfeld from 1889, which was in the possession of the Kunsthalle Bremen, as well as the Bremen artists' dispute that followed the purchase of the picture in 1911 , was the most successful exhibition to date with over 320,000 visitors the Bremen art gallery. In addition, it was the most visited exhibition in an art museum in 2002/2003 in German-speaking countries.
She published numerous publications on art history topics as well as artist monographs and exhibition catalogs .
Dorothee Hansen lives in Bremen.
