Dorothy Saunders

Dorothy Saunders (married Jackson, born January 22, 1915 , † November 12, 2013 ) was a British sprinter .

In 1938 she won silver at the British Empire Games in Sydney with the English 660-yard relay and bronze with the English 440-yard relay. Over 100 and 220 yards she was eliminated in the semifinals. In the same year she was fourth over 100 m and fifth over 200 m at the European Athletics Championships in Vienna . In the 4 x 100 meter relay , she was disqualified with the British quartet.

At the International University Games in 1935 she won silver over 100 m, 1937 gold over 80 m and 200 m and 1939 gold in the javelin throw and bronze in the discus throw .

In 1938 she became English champion over 200 m.
