Dosso della Torta

The Dosso della Torta , also known as Dos del la Torta , is the highest mountain ( 2156  m slm ) of the north-south running Gaverdina ridge in the western Lake Garda mountains . It is located in the municipality of Ledro, which belongs to the province of Trento, between the Val di Concei in the south and the Val Marcia in the north . The Rio Secco, the most important tributary of Lake Tenno, has its source on the eastern slope of the Dos del la Torta .

At the Dosso della Torta, the Dolomite High Trail No. 10, also known as the Judicaria High Trail, and the regional long-distance hiking trail Garda-Brenta pass.

During the First World War , the Austro-Hungarian frontline ran over the Gaverdina ridge and thus also over the Dosso della Torta. Some remains of the position have been preserved from this period.

From the summit you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the surrounding Lake Garda mountains (Gaverdinakamm, Monte Cadria , Monte Tremalzo , Monte Baldo ) as well as the Brenta , Adamello and Ortler groups .

The steep, steep slope to the north can be easily reached from the south in a few minutes from the Dolomites high path no .
