Doug Van Wie (born May 31, 1984 in Charlotte , North Carolina ) is an American swimmer .
Career
In 2008 Van Wie was part of the successful 4 × 100 m freestyle relay, which was world champion at the short course world championships in 2008 with a new world record.
Although he swam numerous personal bests at the 2008 Olympics , he was unable to qualify for any final, including the Summer Olympics in Beijing .
