Douglas is an American city in Arizona in Cochise County . It has about 17,000 inhabitants on an area of 20.0 km² (as of 2006). The city was named after James Douglas , a Canadian entrepreneur.
Douglas is right on the border with Mexico . Opposite it is the Mexican city of Agua Prieta . The location served as the location for the movie Arizona Dream . Arizona State Route 80 runs through the city and US Highway 191 begins in Douglas .
