Douglas Ganton
Douglas "Doug" Ganton is a sound engineer .
Life
Ganton began his career in the mid-1970s and made his feature film debut in 1975 with the Canadian production Lions for Breakfast . Numerous other Canadian film and television productions followed. Between 1981 and 1996 he was nominated four times for the Genie Award . In addition, he was nominated in 1988 and 2003 for the Gemini Award , which he won in 2003.
In 1995 he was nominated for Legends of Passion together with Paul Massey , David E. Campbell and Chris David for the Oscar in the category Best Sound , but the award this year went to Jan de Bont's action film Speed . As a result, he was involved in several major Hollywood productions, including James Cameron's Titanic .
Ganton retired from the film business in 2009, his last work was the horror film Walled In .
