Douglas Count of Saurma-Jeltsch

Douglas Graf von Saurma-Jeltsch (born September 10, 1966 in Marburg , Hessen ) is a German business economist and was ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Lithuania from 2006 to 2012 .

Douglas Graf Saurma attended the St. Johann Abbey School in Amöneburg and studied business administration at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel as well as in London and Paris . After completing his studies, he worked for ProSieben Television GmbH from 1993 to 1997 . During this time, he was involved in the introduction of encryption methods in the pay-TV sector, as well as with the establishment of Home Order Television (today: HSE24), a teleshopping station that was launched on October 16, 1995 as the first teleshopping station in Germany started, involved. In addition to developing product management, his tasks also included responsibility for strategic marketing.

Count von Saurma-Jeltsch first came into contact with the Sovereign Order of Malta in the late 1990s, when he was their district manager in Frankfurt am Main from 1997 to 1999 . In 2004 he finally became a member of the Order of Malta. Two years later, in 2006, he became ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Lithuania , replacing Peter Freiherr von Fürstenberg .

As a member of the executive board of Malteser Hilfsdienst , Graf von Saurma-Jeltsch has been responsible for the areas of recruiting and administration, communication, fundraising, the Malteser Foundation, foreign service as well as Malteser International and the Malteser Service Center since January 1, 2010 .

In 2012 he took part in the docu-soap Undercover Boss , in which he worked undetected as an intern in six departments.

Graf von Saurma-Jeltsch has been Vice President in the Senate of Economics since 2014.
