Douglas Turner (tennis player)

Douglas Barlow Turner (probably born September 8, 1883 in St. Louis , † May 17, 1959 in Kirkwood ) was an American tennis player .

biography

Turner, whose life dates are not proven beyond doubt, took part in the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis in the tennis competition. In the singles he did not get past the second round after a bye at the start, where he was defeated by Semp Russ 2: 6 and 1: 6. In doubles he also competed with Andrew Drew and lost again in his first match. The opponents were Joseph Wear and Allen West .

At the time of his death, he owned Turner Plastic Products in St. Louis.
