The Prophet (born November 5, 1968 ; actually Dov J. Elkabas ) is a Dutch DJ and music producer of Jewish descent. He is also known by the name The Masochist . Together with DJ Dano, Buzz Fuzz and DJ Gizmo, he forms The Dreamteam. Dov J. Elkabas is the owner of the Scantraxx label and mostly plays hardstyle and hardcore techno .

Career

Dov Elkabas started DJing in 1983 after attending a party in the disco Het Nijlpaardenhuis (literally: The Hippopotamus House ). He bought his own turntables and started experimenting with them. He hung up on some festivals under the name Akhnaton .

In 1991 he founded the gabber / hardcore techno act The Dreamteam with DJ Dano, Buzz Fuzz and Gizmo . Later he began to orientate himself more towards the direction of the hardstyle and other styles. Elkabas played under his various pseudonyms at many large raves and festivals in the Netherlands and Europe, including Thunderdome , Q-Base , Mystery Land , Decibel Outdoor, Nightmare Outdoor, Defqon.1 , Nature One and Qlimax .
