The Dr.-Ing. Siegfried Werth Foundation is a non-profit foundation based in Giessen. It has sponsored scientific work in the field of measurement technology every year since 1988 .
history
Siegfried Werth founded an apparatus and mechanical engineering company in Düsseldorf in 1951, which manufactured measuring devices and measuring profile projectors. In 1958 the company relocated to Giessen , where a new production facility was built. Today the company operates under the name of Werth Messtechnik GmbH. After his death, his widow, Maria Werth, set up an initially unincorporated foundation under the name of Dr.-Ing.Siegfried Werth-Stiftung to commemorate her husband's life's work in 1987, which in 1995 became a legal, non-profit foundation was transferred. The foundation is based in Giessen.
purpose
Is the promotion and financing of scientific work in the field of non-contact dimensional measurement technology.
The purpose of the foundation is fulfilled in particular through the awarding of scientific work by young scientists after obtaining the first academic degree in the field of industrial metrology or related fields or through the awarding of research contracts including doctoral projects to talented young scientists.
organ
The sole foundation body is the board of trustees . It consists of four honorary curators, from among whom the chairman of the board of trustees is elected for a term of office of five years and who represents the foundation together with another member in all judicial and extrajudicial matters.
