The Drachenkopf , also Kannelberg, in the Eastern Ore Mountains is 805.2  m above sea level. NHN one of the highest elevations in the Central Saxony district . On it is a station of the Royal Saxon Triangulation, built in 1869 .

It is located in the pottery forest between the towns of Nassau , Hermsdorf / Erzgeb. and Holzhau . It is completely wooded and has no direct view.

In winter it forms the center of an extensive network of trails and is a popular destination due to the high level of snow reliability. Various cross-country skiing competitions and the annual dog sled race are held around and on the Drachenkopf.

In the summer months it is also a popular destination for hikers and cyclists due to its proximity to the Gimmlitztal . The Eisenach – Budapest EB mountain hiking trail leads past the Drachenkopf .

Between 1923 and 1972 a cable car ran from the Holzhau station on the Nossen – Moldau railway line , east of the summit to the Hermsdorf lime works . The former course is still visible today based on the vegetation.
