In the summer months it is also a popular destination for hikers and cyclists due to its proximity to the Gimmlitztal . The Eisenach – Budapest EB mountain hiking trail leads past the Drachenkopf .
Between 1923 and 1972 a cable car ran from the Holzhau station on the Nossen – Moldau railway line , east of the summit to the Hermsdorf lime works . The former course is still visible today based on the vegetation.
