Drahomír Zobek

Drahomír Zobek (born July 20, 1952 in Nová Baňa ) is a Slovak sculptor and medalist .

Career

Drahomír Zobek attended from 1967 to 1971 the Škola úžitkového výtvarníctva , an arts and crafts school in Kremnica , which mainly trains engravers and metal sculptors. In July 1971 he became an employee of the Czechoslovak mint , the Mincovňa Kremnica . From 1990 to 1995 he headed the studio there and has been working as a freelance artist since then. Zobek designed in Czechoslovakia several special coins after the independence of Slovakia all 1993 valid until 2008 Mint in Slovak koruna and the small cent coins issued since 2009 Slovak euro coins . In addition, he designed numerous medals as an employee of the Mincovňa Kremnica and as a freelance artist. Zobek lives and works in Kremnica.
