The Draves Point is a headland at the Knox Coast of the East Antarctic Wilke country . It is the westernmost landmark of the Booth Peninsula and is located 500 m north of the eastern part of Thomas Island .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) gave it in 1956 on the erroneous assumption that this object was an island, the name Draves Island . Scientists on a Soviet Antarctic expedition (1956–1957) discovered that the landmark is part of the Booth Peninsula. US ACAN corrected the toponym in 1961 . It is named after Dale Draves, a crew member of the flights carried out by Lieutenant Commander David Eli Bunger (1909–1971) in the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947) for making aerial photographs.
