Background and content

General football policy issues and the discussion of the current Bundesliga matchday with a focus on the moderators' favorite clubs, Axel ( 1. FC Köln ), Basti ( Eintracht Frankfurt ), Enzo ( VfB Stuttgart ) and David ( SC Freiburg and SV Darmstadt 98 ) are the weekly Entry into the show. However, the focus is not on current reporting and an occasional emotional assessment of the events. For example, the mascots or club songs of the football clubs are analyzed and rated in the program. The podcast appears regularly after every Bundesliga match, usually Tuesday. An episode usually lasts three to four hours.

The four podcasters are recognized experts in the scene for their clubs and are therefore often invited to other podcasts, for example Frogier as an expert on French football in lawn radio and Roth and Goldmann in the "final conference" of lawn radio. Tino, too, at the always the accusation is in the room that he has never been invited to the lawn radio, had an appearance in June 2017. Goldmann is also established as an expert on 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga broadcasts from Amazon, Roth is part of Fußball 2000. The Drei90 team also has a good relationship with the referee podcast Collinas Erben . Klaas Reese repeatedly speaks texts for Drei90 and provides text templates for songs by Drei90. After the first live podcasts in the summer of 2019 in Frankfurt and Cologne, Drei90 performed in December 2019 in the sold-out Batschkapp in Frankfurt . Further dates are set for 2020.

Reception and awards

Drei90 received the podcast award in the sport category in 2019.

The computer newspaper c't particularly highlighted Drei90 in November 2019 because the podcast would not fall “into any of the classic categories” of other football podcasts, neither under the category of the “deadly serious” nor that of the “Laber broadcasts”.

The Südwest-Presse also included three90 in their list of particularly recommended podcasts.

Various points emphasize again and again that the discussions on sports policy and (sports) social issues (racism, commercialization, etc.) reflect on and take place in appreciation of other points of view. The hr court reporter Heike Borufka , who denies the podcast “Verdict” with Bastian Roth, says about him: “[He is] an incredibly intelligent, very differentiated person who doesn't do exactly what I think is so dangerous: the world to be divided into black and white. ” Münchner Merkur praised Axel Goldmann's contribution to the debate on the television policy of the Bundesliga pay station Sky .

The podcast also received national attention with its project to create a “dream federal league”. The idea of a list of clubs that fans in the Bundesliga would like to see was taken up by various media with reference to the Drei90 broadcast, including the Rheinische Post , Sport1 editor-in-chief Pit Gottschalk and the Allgemeine Zeitung Mainz , which critically dealt with the idea.
